While these shows were part of what was called the "In the Flesh" tour, it would still be more than two years before that title became a song on The Wall (two, to be precise). This was the tour made in support of Animals which ended on July 6, 1977 in Montréal — the infamous concert with the Roger Waters spitting incident and small end-of-show riot that inspired part of the epic double album that was to come in 1979.
From what I ever heard of these concerts, there was no such trauma. When I moved to California in December 1977, people were still talking about these shows as if they were the greatest concerts in northern California since the area’s heyday in the 1960’s.
