As the esteemed Mr. Hathaway states himself in his description of this photo, this is indeed quite a unique structure. When the store was built and then opened in August 1950, it also included was this streamlined bust stop shelter including a Sears neon sign. While the store closed on August 30, 2020, the bus stop has remained intact. One can only hope that any new property owner and/or the City of Houston will have the good taste to preserve this little piece of commercial architecture and keep it as "The Old Sears Bus Stop".
