No, that is not your humble host despite the fine clothing choice of those extremely groovy slacks! That is the photographer’s/scanner’s brother. For those who were not alive before the 1973 Oil Crisis and overzealous city councils began to spell their doom, I present this great old family album photo to give some perspective on exactly how big the Holiday Inn "Great Sign" really was.
I would love to see a pic of the building g that sat on Red Bud rd for a number of years! I have been trying to find pics of the old Holiday Inn for quite sometime and just not having any luck. All i seem to be getting is pics of the Holiday Inn Sign, and i would just love a vintage pic of the buildiig before they knocked it down a few yrs back. If anyone know of any pics of it couod someone PLEASE let me know! Thanks In Advance!

Keelie…I searched everywhere I know and could not find anything on a Holiday Inn anywhere in Calhoun other than the picture I posted and stuff from the new location. Depending on when that one was around, it might be tough to find anything that came from Holiday Inn itself if it was around only during the time when the company standardized all of its postcards. You will just have to keep looking periodically at Flickr and other image search engines and hope somebody finds and posts a picture of it. It’s tough to see so much old stuff out there and not find something of the place you really want. I have several of those I hope to find someday. Good luck!
