In 1935, the Anglo-American Oil Company (also seen here as Angloco on Tommy Pratt-kins’ hat) phased out the Pratt’s name and aligned its branding with its corporate cousin, Standard Oil of New Jersey. Phonetically using the S and O, the brand became Esso.
